While the first Global Stocktake of climate action has been conducted eight years after the adoption of the Paris Agreement, Expertise France is at COP28, underscoring its commitment to the fight against climate change.

On this occasion, we take a look at the role and issues of the agency, which assists its partners with the implementation of projects in this priority thematic area.

This 28th edition of the Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP28), a major event in the international agenda, kicked off on Thursday 30 November and will continue until 12 December 2023. The first Global Stocktake of the commitments made by the signatory countries to the Paris Agreement will be presented at the event. This exercise will take stock of and assess the collective efforts towards the achievement of the objectives of limiting the increase in temperatures, and thereby accelerate the ambitions of countries.

As the agency holding the Presidency of the network of European cooperation agencies, the “Practitioners’ Network”, Expertise France’s active participation in COP28 is fully in line with European and French and initiatives and priorities, and in keeping with the issues that concern AFD Group.
