Cassilde Brenière is an agronomist and engineer. For 25 years, she has contributed to the emergence of models with concrete results for the final beneficiaries.
After 15 years of experience in the private sector, as a technical assistant in Colombia, the Philippines and Romania, then as head of an operational unit managing water and sanitation services for 600,000 people in the Paris suburbs, she joined Agence Française de Développement in 2009 as a project manager, before becoming head of the division in charge of all water and sanitation projects financed by AFD worldwide.
In 2016, she moved to Morocco to become Deputy Director of AFD's Rabat agency for 4 years where she led the teams of one of AFD's largest agencies and brought forth new activities that were supportive of gender equality, a strong commitment throughout her professional and personal career.
She was then appointed Deputy Director of AFD's Executive Directorate of Operations in Paris, and in 2023 Deputy CEO in charge of operation of Expertise France.
Since joining AFD, Cassilde has been committed to contributing to the international debate on water and natural resources, climate change, in particular on adaptation, gender and financing, as well as to the evolution of AFD's approach to institutional strengthening, accountability and AFD's global position as a donor.
