, whose technical secretariat is run and animated by Expertise France, took part to the World Summit Climate & Territories held in Lyon on the 1st and 2nd of July 2015. Held 5 months ahead of the 21st Conference of Parties ( ) on Climate Change, this World Summit is a key step in the number of preparatory events (about 30) of the official agenda.
The Summit Climate & Territories, a major event for non-state players, is the place where the main local administration and NGO networks can make their voices heard.
PFVT mobilised its members around three central themes, through workshops on regional planning, climate change adaptation measures and funding of measures associated with climate change. These workshops were enriched by participants’ experience exchanges and led to text proposals shared during plenary sessions in order to contribute to the debates.
This Summit was characterised by a very strong commitment by the regional actors. François Hollande stated that funds dedicated to the implementation of measures related to climate change would be directly accessible by local authorities.
