Expertise France is co-hosting EU-Mexico Cooperation Days to foster research and innovation

EU-MEX INNOVA, a bilateral initiative funded by the European Commission, aims at strengthening cooperation between Europe and Mexico in the areas of research and innovation. Expertise France, as a member of the consortium managing the project, co-organised the EU-MEX Cooperation Days in Mexico City on the 8th and the 9th of March.

About 150 European and Mexican players from the field of research and technological innovation (researchers, entrepreneurs, SMEs, policy-makers, investors, and academics) attended the event.

Hosted by the CONACYT (National Council of Science and Technology), the Mexican leader of the EU-MEX INNOVA project, the event provided an opportunity to the European Union delegation in Mexico to stress the importance of a EU-Mexico cooperation in research and development, especially in the fields of energy and information and communication technologies.

The French delegation included:

  • The Division for European and International Affairs in Research, Innovation and Higher Education (MEIRIES);
  • Several flagship companies supported by BPI France (ATOS – big data and digital services, MINATEC –micro- and nanotechnologies innovation campus, MedinCell – controlled release of drugs); and
  • Four experts in cybersecurity, climate research, astrophysics and AP-HP delegated by Expertise France.
