The Republic of Djibouti submitted its contribution () ahead of , which is to be held in Paris in December 2015. The country was supported by France in the drafting of this document, through the French Facility to support INDCs, implemented by Expertise France and funded by .
The Republic of Djibouti, a coastal country vulnerable to climate change and rising sea levels, is committed to reduce its emissions by 40%. To reach this ambitious objective, Djibouti will need to invest over €3.3 billion, with the assistance of the international community.
From May to September 2015, 3 international experts and 2 national experts supported the Djibouti government:
- situation assessment and needs definition;
- the country's climate change mitigation and adaptation potentials analysis;
- suggestion of contributions adapted to the national situation; and
- drafting of the final document.
