The Republic of Djibouti, a coastal country vulnerable to climate change and rising sea levels, is committed to reduce its emissions by 40%. To reach this ambitious objective, Djibouti will need to invest over €3.3 billion, with the assistance of the international community.

From May to September 2015, 3 international experts and 2 national experts supported the Djibouti government:

  • situation assessment and needs definition;
  • the country's climate change mitigation and adaptation potentials analysis;
  • suggestion of contributions adapted to the national situation; and
  • drafting of the final document.
